Here's a rule I use in procurement: if a filter claims to remove something, demand the certification sheet. If they only say 'reduces impurities,' that's marketing, not a spec. Start with three questions.

So, is Brita a good water filter? For chlorine, taste, and everyday drinking water, yes. For scale, no. For lead and other specific contaminants, only if the model is certified.
